Version 0.8 Pre-release 1 is the fifth pre-release for Baldi's Basics Plus. It was released on November 7, 2024, and serves as the first pre-release of V0.8 of Baldi's Basics Plus.

Changes

• Added the time limit feature:
  • Floor 1's time limit is 5 minutes, floor 2's is 7 minutes and 30 seconds, and floor 3's is 10 minutes.
  • The Baldi TV will show how much time is left for the player to beat the floor. It will show the time limit when 5, 3 or 1 minutes are left.
  • The lighting system has been slightly reworked to accommodate for this addition.
  • Baldi announces when time is up.
  • When time is up, the following changes will be applied:
    • The school gets darker.
      • The player will be invisible to NPCs in dark areas.
      • Baldi's Math Machine cannot be interacted with when the lights are off.
    • Baldi gets faster over time.
    • Principal of the Thing will scold the player for being in school after hours.
• The maximum time allowed to get the time bonus for floor 2 and 3 has been decreased to 5 minutes and 8 minutes respectively.
• Added a timer in the Principal's office. This shows the remaining time in red color when the player gets detention and turns green when the countdown finishes. This replaces the red text that displays on-screen.
• Added the Game Settings tab in the options screen where the player can adjust the number of power tubes available per game and to set the time limit to 1 minute.
• Added "" signs in front of the elevators and two potted plants on both sides.
• The color of the round text in Pick-Quick-Nic has been changed to green.
• Several changes to the advanced map:
  • There is now a green panel to the right of the You Can Think Pad screen, which holds the following additions:
    • Markers can now be placed. These markers will appear and can be seen through walls and sprites when holding the Quick Map button.
    • There are now buttons to move the map, as well as to zoom in and out, likely for an eventual mobile release.
    • The time limit is displayed on the bottom.
• The detention timer goes down faster than the school timer.
• All floors uses same lighting method.

Trivia

• This pre-release was originally planned to be released on November 5, 2024, but was delayed to November 6, 2024, and then again to November 7, 2024 due to unexpected issues.
  • It was estimated to be released by the weekend, but ended up releasing earlier than expected.

Glitches

• Endless Mode - Random levels are unable to generate, as the level generator crashes when attempting to play it, due to being outdated.
• The bonus question overlay on the Math Machine is active before the player collects all the notebooks in the level.
• The caption for Baldi announcing that time is up does not have a value associated with its key, leaving it as Vfx_BAL_TimeUpPlaceholder. This was intentional, as the voice line was indeed a placeholder.

• 

  When the player completes the floor at the same time as the timer appears in the Baldi TV, the timer still features in the screen in the next floor until it features another timer. Baldi can overlap in his TV with the timer.
• If Baldi catches the player while they are on a fully darkened tile, the HUD (the Staminometer and inventory) will stay darker than normal after restarting the floor. They will return to full brightness if the player hides and unhides.
• If Baldi's Least Favorite Tape or a pay phone makes noise after the school closes, Principal of the Thing sometimes does not turn off the lights when he exits a room.
