Power tubes on the right side of the elevator.
Power tubes (or lives*) are play turns that the player has in Baldi's Basics Plus.
Gameplay[]
In Hide-and-Seek and Explorer Mode, the player starts with three power tubes in each level, and they are represented as green tubes as seen from the right side of the elevator. If Baldi catches the player, the player will be sent back to the start of the same level and one of the tubes in the elevator will disappear, but the map will stay the same. Running out of power tubes will result in a game over and will send the player back to the title screen, and the levels upon starting are randomized, unless they enter the previous seed to play the game.
In Endless Mode and Challenges, the player only has one power tube.
The player is also able to choose one of three play style options to adjust power tubes in Hide-and-Seek. It is found in the Hide-and-Seek menu.
Trivia[]
General[]
- Power tubes were first considered by mystman12 in his Kickstarter reply on September 19, 2019, as a life system.[1] They were later first imported in Kickstarter Exclusive Demo.
Baldi's Basics Plus[]
- Although the zero power tubes texture is found in the game files, it is currently unused, as losing the last power tube will immediately send the player back to the title screen without showing the elevator.
- Even after V0.2, this texture was added with a finished design, likely because it could be used later.
- When looking at the outside of the elevator, even if the player has less than three power tubes, there are always three tubes on the right side. It is because there is only a three power tubes texture for the right wall of the elevator's outside view.
- Prior to V0.2, the elevator screen referred to power tubes simply as "tubes".
- Since V0.5, the player can earn more You Thought Points when they complete a floor with more power tubes, with the total amount of You Thought Points being multiplied by the number of power tubes remaining.
- Prior to V0.8, there were no play style options to adjust the amount of power tubes in Hide-and-Seek.
Glitches[]
- From Baldi's Basics Plus V0.3.5 to V0.5, the amount of power tubes was seemingly not reset after completing a floor. The player still had three power tubes, however.
- Prior to V0.5.1, in Endless Mode, there were two power tubes instead of one even though the player only had one life. It could trick players.

I also plan to add more detail to the map overall, so you can see details such as where items are located, which rooms are cleared, where obstacles are, etc. As for revealing maps, the areas you've revealed in a level will remain revealed on repeated attempts at a level until you get a game over (The whole life system I'm considering is still up in the air, but that's where my mind's at right now), you'll be able to buy complete maps for levels in the shop, and I also just came up with an item that will help player's more quickly fill out their maps." - mystman12.
