Test procedure is one of the random events for Baldi's Basics Plus.
Gameplay[]
General[]
The test procedure event consists of lockdown doors in some hallways which are introduced on floor 2, although the event is introduced on floor 3.
When the event starts, the player will hear a 10-second countdown, and once it is over, most of lockdown doors will close, preventing the player and other characters from getting through for a few seconds.
Some lockdown doors may shut later than the other doors. In other words, not all lockdown doors close and open at the same time.
Some of them can also be opened or closed anytime by pressing the nearest buttons. These doors are not affected by this event.
Challenges[]
Although there are no events in challenges, there is one lockdown door in the Stealthy Challenge and Grapple Challenge each.
Other appearances[]
- In Baldi's Basics Full Game Early Demo, this event was first introduced. There are five lockdown doors and all of them are affected by the test procedure event. There is no button to open or close any of the lockdown doors.
- In Baldi's Basics Kickstarter Exclusive Demo, lockdown doors are introduced on floor 1, however they are closed at first. This also applies to Baldi's Basics - Challenges Demo.
- In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, there is no test procedure event. However, there is a lockdown door in Baldi's Basement and can be opened or closed by pressing a button in a faculty room nearby.
Trivia[]
General[]
- The voice counting down from 9 was done by mystman12 himself.
Baldi's Basics Plus[]
- If observing the lockdown door texture closely, an image of Baldi down the hallway is nearly visible. The unedited image is used as the background in the community tab for Baldi's Basics Plus on Steam.
- It is the only random event that is absent in Endless Mode, possibly because it could be unfun.
- Prior to V0.1.5, when a lockdown door was open, it could be seen on the roof from the playground.
- This was also applied to the outdoor area, but prior to V0.1.4.
- Prior to V0.3, the lockdown doors were first introduced on floor 1.
- Prior to V0.3.3, the lockdown door in the challenges were closed at first.
Glitches[]
- It is possible to stand right under one of the lockdown doors and clip into the center of it when it closes. Any movement will free the player. And despite this, NPCs can still interact with the player.
- Cloudy Copter's wind can pass through the lockdown doors.
- NPCs can clip through lockdown doors when they are raising. However, the player can only pass through them when they are at least half closed.
- This can sometimes be risky if Baldi is in front of the player and they are trapped as the lockdown door is closed and there is no way to escape. Right after the lockdown door is open, Baldi will immediately move toward the player.
- Since V0.4, the lockdown doors are initially seen closed when entering a floor, but snap open when the level actually starts.

I did this because listening for noises and where they're coming from is an important aspect of Baldi's Basics." - mystman12. October 18, 2018. Twitter
