- For the setting in Classic Remastered, see Fun Setting.
- For other uses, see Game (disambiguation).

The Game Settings in the Hide-and-Seek menu.
Game Settings are game modifiers in Baldi's Basics Plus. Any changes to these game modifiers will only apply when starting up a new game.
Play Style[]
Choose a play style. Changes only apply when starting a new game.
These options affect how many rounds you can lose before getting a game over!—Official description
- For other uses, see Play (disambiguation).
Play Styles (or LifeMode
s*) were first introduced in V0.8. They are used to adjust power tubes or the game's behavior in Hide-and-Seek.
The list of available Play Styles to choose from is the following:
Name | Official description |
---|---|
Normal | You start each level with three power tubes. |
Arcade | You start with three power tubes, but do not get any more each level. |
Strict | You only get one power tube per-game. Lose once and that's game over! |
Explorer | Baldi won't chase you, so you can explore freely! (You cannot unlock anything or save in Explorer mode) |
Challenges[]
- For other uses, see Challenge (disambiguation) or Map (disambiguation).
These settings change the game in ways to make it extra challenging!
Changes to these settings only apply when starting a new game.—Official description
Challenges were first introduced in V0.8.1 and serve as an upgrade of Fun Settings from Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered.
The list of available Challenges is the following:
Name | Official description |
---|---|
1 Minute Limit | Sets the time limit on every level to one minute. Hurry up! |
No Map | Completely disables the map. Pay attention! |
Shrinking Inventory | When using an item, you will lose a slot for the rest of the level. Think carefully! |
Trivia[]
- Game Settings were first introduced in V0.8.
- The 1 Minute Limit Challenge was originally used for testing the time limit feature for the pre-releases of V0.8, and it was called "Time Limit Test". It was later re-added in V0.8.1, but with a different name.
- Game Settings might be a reference to the Fun Settings in Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered.
- Prior to V0.9, there were a few differences:
Game Settings in V0.8 and V0.8.1.
- The Explorer Play Style was an actual mode and not a Play Style.
Glitches[]
- The player can still buy the map fill from Johnny's Store, even when No Map is enabled.
- However, if a map fill is bought, nothing will change and nothing will happen.
- Giving the Bus Pass to Johnny will consume an inventory slot when Shrinking Inventory is enabled, making the player start the next level without one of their inventory slots.
- In V0.8 and its pre-releases, the "Strict" Play Style was labeled by its early name, "Intense".
- The "Intense" name is still used in the code, however.
- Prior to V0.9, in Endless Mode, 1 Minute Limit prevented all random events from happening, despite this mode lacking a time limit.
- This no longer happens due to Game Settings only being available in Hide-and-Seek.
