Baldi's Basics Wiki
UnusedIcon This article lists existing features that were cut, in other words: unused, scrapped, or removed. These can be found in the game files, older updates, or pre-released/reworked content.

A gallery of images (textures or sprites) that were either unused or removed in later versions of the Baldi's Basics games.

List[]

Baldi sprites[]

There are unused animated sprites of Baldi in the second version of farm field trip. Especially, the one being disappointed was never used in the game. It would have been used when the player brings the incorrect animal into the barn or runs out of time and it was scrapped likely because it would require Baldi to stay on the screen, which would cover some parts of the maze.

There were also sprites that were removed in Baldi's Basics Plus V0.3: Baldi slapping his ruler in his camping outfit, and Baldi slapping his ruler in his farm outfit.

CRT filters[]

In the game files, since Full Game Early Demo, there is a series of same-sized random images in the following order: C64, Calibration-Color, Calibration-Screen, Cherry, Paris, Leaves, and Coffee. The images are actually from a CRT filter in Unity that mystman12 used for a while which in itself became cut from the final release.[1]

Field trips[]

There were several field trip objects that were unused in Baldi's Basics Plus V0.3 and V0.4 due to the revamping.

Camping[]

There were bear traps that would stun certain characters, a "NO" sign found in deeper areas and trees.

There were also skybox textures exclusively used on the old camping field trip.

Farm[]

First version[]

Prior to V0.3, there were a flag that the player would need to reach to complete the field trip, poorly-drawn signs that said "More weird corn maze signs to come! -Baldi" and the old corn plant and tile ground texture.

Second version[]

From V0.3.2 to V0.3.8, there were a ground texture for the background, a wall texture for a maze and a barn sprite for the goal.

Logos[]

When launching the game, the splash images for the Unity engine, mystman12's original logo, and Meta Game Jam 2018 were featured in Baldi's Basics Classic. Upon the release of update V1.4, all of these were removed.

In the Baldi's Basics Plus asset files, there is an unused MPTK logo. For some reason, it was altered in V0.3.5.

Number sprites[]

In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, there are unused white number sprites. These were supposed to be used on an indicator that how many bonus questions were solved, but this function was moved to Baldi's Math Machine.[2] These were also intended to be added for an on-screen timer during the Null battle.[3]

TestPoster[]

TestPoster

TestPoster is a dithered version of former mystman12's avatar. It was used for placeholder posters during the development and the temporary broken window texture in Baldi's Basics Plus V0.3.5.

Since V0.4, this file was removed from asset files.

You Can Think Pad[]

PadZoom

Prior to Baldi's Basics Plus V0.3.5, when the player paused the game or used an advanced map, the You Can Think Pad zoomed in. Since this version, only the last frame is used and zooming in is replaced to the transition effect.

Zero power tubes[]

In the game files, there is an elevator texture that shows that there are no power tubes left that has yet to be used. It is unused likely because the player cannot continue the game when they have run out of power tubes - Once the player loses their last power tube, they get sent back to the menu without showing the elevator screen.

Trivia[]

Baldi's Basics Plus[]

  • Prior to V0.3, there was an image with Baldi dabbing in the old ending. This image is now used on one of Baldi's Basics Plus promotion screens in Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered.

Baldi's Basics Classic[]

  • In the alternate ending, if the player uses hacks to teleport/walk outside the map with either a WD-NoSquee or an Alarm Clock, they can see the placeholder image in the inventory.
  • The poster mentioning the pay phone's usage was first introduced in V1.2.1. It was once removed in version 1.4, but was re-added in the next update.
  • Before V1.3.2, PlaceFace's full view sprite was unused, but deactivated and invisible without using another program.
  • There were a few unused sprites that are now used on mobile version as controls: a rearview mirror and Baldi's legs, shown as if he was running. In the mobile version, the rearview mirror button is used to look backwards, and the button with Baldi's legs is used to toggle running.
