Baldi won't chase you, so you can explore freely!
(You cannot unlock anything or save in Explorer mode)

—Description

Explorer is one of the Play Styles in Baldi's Basics Plus.

In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, the Play Style is introduced as one of the four Fun Settings, but it is called Free Run.

Gameplay[]

Baldi's Basics Plus[]

Baldi disappears in Explorer Mode

Baldi, vanishing in the Explorer Play Style.

This Play Style allows the player to explore the locations in the Super Schoolhouse freely without Baldi chasing them, as he will vanish right after the countdown. Even though Baldi still appears in field trips, he does not harm the player there. There is also no time limit for the Lights Out event.

Completing the game in this Play Style will send the player back to the title screen, as it is required to beat Hide-and-Seek on another Play Style to get the ending.

Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered[]

Free Run

The Schoolhouse, while Free Run is activated.

Baldi will not be featured at the beginning and other NPCs will spawn in the Schoolhouse right away. Notebooks in the Classic Style and Party Style are collected immediately without the use of the You Can Think Pad, similarly to Baldi's Basics Plus, and the second Baldi's Math Machine will not be glitched out when playing in Demo Style. Playing any style with the Free Run Fun Setting will not unlock any secrets or achievements. The player also cannot win the game with Free Run on because even if the player comes in contact with exits, they will not be closed.

Since Endless Mode disables all Fun Settings in this game, playing Endless Mode with Free Run won't change anything.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • This Play Style was first introduced in Kickstarter Exclusive Demo, called "Free Run".
    • This name was later reused in Classic Remastered.
  • The mode's description from Kickstarter Exclusive Demo read: "You can explore freely in this mode!".

Baldi's Basics Plus[]

  • Despite Baldi's absence, the following can happen:
    • The broken ruler event can still occur, although, it does nothing.
    • Baldi's description in the Principal's office isn't removed.
    • The Baldi TV still appears and he will still congratulate the player for finding all of the notebooks in each floor and announce the events that will happen.
  • Obtaining An Apple for Baldi is useless in this Play Style, because there is no way to remove it from the inventory if the player's inventory is not full, as Baldi is absent.
  • Prior to V0.4.1, the Play Style's description read: "Explore Baldi's Super Schoolhouse to your heart's content! You can explore any level you've reached in Hide-and-Seek.".
  • Prior to V0.9, Explorer was an actual mode and not a Play Style.
    • It was formerly known as Explorer Mode, Free Run Mode or Free-Roam Mode.
    • There was a description for this mode, and it read:
Baldi won't bother you in this mode! Explore the Super Schoolhouse to your heart's content! You can explore any level you've reached in Hide-and-Seek.

    • However, the word 'mode' is still found in the description of the Play Style.

Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered[]

  • Prior to V1.1, the Free Run Fun Setting was not available.
  • The fact that the weather seems to be in the early hours may give the impression that Baldi has not yet arrived at school.
  • While it is possible to allow Fun Settings on Endless Mode by using a mod menu, that won't work, because playing with Free Run loads a completely different scene, and since there is no Endless Mode Free Run scene, nothing happens.
