A chalkboard.

Chalkboards, also known as blackboards*, are one of the most common wall props in the game and can be found in the classrooms or faculty rooms of the Baldi's Basics series. So far, there are 34 different chalkboards across the series.

Appearances

In Baldi's Basics Classic, there are only 12 different chalkboards in-game (though one chalkboard is hidden) and two of them are found in each faculty rooms. Some of them contain various writings, including a reference to the internet series Homestar Runner, "Lore", along with various other joke statements. There is a chalkboard in Baldi's Office which is just the chalkboard seen when opening the game.

In Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash, there are the same chalkboards in Classic.

In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, the text in some chalkboards is written in the Comic Sans MS font instead of hand-writing. The hidden chalkboard isn't present in this game.

There are 2 more chalkboards in a hidden room with Bladder, and one more in mystman12's office. There are also a few chalkboards in Music Room for displaying controls, a music title and a composer.

In Baldi's Basics Full Game Early Demo, 9 chalkboards were implemented.

In Baldi's Basics Kickstarter Exclusive Demo, chalkboards for Chalkles and field trips each were introduced.

Chalkles will spawn from a blank chalkboard in the classroom after being in the room for 20 seconds, unless a Faculty Nametag is in action.

General

• One of the lessons on the chalkboards is how to eat cheese. This might mean that the people that go to those classrooms do not know how to eat, or that they competitively eat and actively seek extra advantages by re-learning how to perform simple tasks more efficiently such as eating cheese quicker.
• In the hangman chalkboard, the word is actually "HANGMAN".
• In Basically, Games!'s office, there is a chalkboard that looks similar to the mathh chalkboard in Baldi's Basics Plus.
• If carefully seen, the second "W" in the "WOW" chalkboard clipped through the chalkboard a bit.

Baldi's Basics Plus

• The only chalkboard in the Speedy Challenge is the one that says: "Baldi says: You can't hide from me! Haha!".
• Prior to V0.3.3, the chalkboard used in Baldi's Office had a wall texture.
• If a map is generated in the NPC state machine test floor, a unique chalkboard has a chance to generate in one of the hallways.
• In V0.3.3, a chalkboard was removed in the Stealthy Challenge and the Grapple Challenge for unknown reasons.
• Prior to V0.3.5, the filename for the "EVERYONE GETS DETENTION!!! I QUIT" chalkboard quoted out:
  "So long, jerk. I've had enough of your horrible management. I haven't seen my family in three days. I'm leaving."
  • Whether this chalkboard is a reference to an unseen character or kid that went to the Super Schoolhouse and decided to leave because of bad management and always getting detention from Principal of the Thing is unknown.
• Since V0.3.5, the handwriting text in some chalkboards were replaced to the text with Comic Sans MS font.

Baldi's Basics Classic/Birthday Bash

The secret chalkboard as seen in-game. There is a hidden chalkboard with a bunch of 99s scribbled on it, and the text "THIS PROGRAM IS CANCER", referring to the infamous number 99 that was seen multiple times. The brick texture itself is strangely more dithered. Prior to V0.4, this chalkboard was also used in Baldi's Basics Plus, but it was rare to be generated, and it was not hidden and its wall had plain dithering. One of the seeds featured this chalkboard was 1881206590. (From V0.3.5 to V0.3.8)

Baldi's Basics Classic

• In V1.3, the chalkboard, "Sorry, ran out of time to add more subjects" was changed into "Sorry, was too lazy to add more subjects". It, as well as the one that references Homestar Runner appears to be written in a different way than all the other chalkboards.

Baldi's Basics Full Game Early Demo

There is a chalk-scribbled chalkboard with an erased number 99 inside the roto-hall. Though, it is only used in this demo as of now, this chalkboard is seen in the Principal's office from Basically, Games!'s Twitter post showcasing the Portal Poster.
