Count the balloons! How much of each color can you find? Go, do it!

—Poster, Glitched school in Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash and Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered

The Baldloons are corrupted Baldi-esque entities that appear in Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash and Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered. Their characteristics are the same as the party balloon decoration found within rooms and hallways of the Schoolhouse, due to them both being balloons and presumably being the same species.

Description[]

All Baldloons are variations of Baldi's chase sprite in Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash, coming in five colors: Purple, blue, green, orange, and red, the last of which only appears as a hostile entity.

The Baldloons also have randomly cropped numbers, letters, and symbols on their sprites. Every Baldloon always has a black shirt, except for the green Baldloon, which has a green shirt instead. The red Baldloons' glitched appearances are much more severe than other variant sprites, with multiple parts of their heads covering their torsos and rulers.

Role[]

Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash[]

TheSwarm

A swarm of red Baldloons following the player.

Baldloons can be found in the glitched school during the normal ending of Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash. They move around very slowly like balloons, and it is possible to push them. After finding the puzzle room, the player must enter the numbers in reference to how many Baldloons there are:

  • 8 Purple Baldloons
  • 6 Blue Baldloons
  • 3 Green Baldloons
  • 1 Orange Baldloons

Shortly after entering the now-unlocked secret room, a numerous amount of red Baldloons will start to appear by clipping out from the walls, whilst playing an audio file called SpoopSound, which is mainly glitching noises. As time progresses, the number of red Baldloons will increase, slowly taking over all of the locations while following the player. This will get noisy very fast as each clone will play their SpoopSound individually.

Non-red Baldloons serve no function other than to be counted. Red Baldloons act as light obstacles, as they will slow down the player if they are surrounding them. After a short period of time, the amount of red Baldloons will start rapidly growing in quantity, which prevents the player from moving. Eventually it will go to the point where there are so many red Baldloons, that the player will be unable to see even the nearest wall. After a short while when the Baldloon's swarm the player, a distorted "Thank you!" screen will appear. The sound can still be heard during the ending because the "Thank you!" screen is not a scene, but rather another simple UI element that blocks the player's view entirely.

Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered[]

Baldloons appear exclusively in Party Style and Glitch Style.

Their behavior in Party Style is similar to their appearance in Birthday Bash, but the number of different-colored variants is randomized. The red Baldloons, as soon as they start appearing, will try to follow the player as if they were on a slippery plane. These variants will delete a tile upon touching one, and distorting the textures of everything upon touching the player. Towards the end of this style, a huge endless swarm of red Baldloons will spawn, slowly corrupting the entire school map. The player's speed and the Baldloon's will be greatly increased at that time.

In Glitch Style — a hidden style after NULL Style has already been completed once — a lone red Baldloon will chase the player down in place of Null. It behaves exactly the same as Null would in this style, with the exception of the voice lines. Interestingly, the red Baldloon will take stranger paths and stranger shortcuts to get to the player faster. However, the red Baldloon will not appear in mystman12's Office, Me appears there instead.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • Baldloon's name is a portmanteau of Baldi and "balloon".
  • The red Baldloons' SpoopSound sound (alternatively known as HALP in the original Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash files) is actually the BALDI.exe file imported into an audio editor as raw data, encoded by VOX ADPCM with the sample rate set to 44100 Hz.
    • Wav2Image With CheatEngine

The SpoopSound sound's graphical view using Cheat Engine. The distorted icons are upside down.

Creepy distorted icons of Baldi's Basics Classic can be seen in the graphical view of the .wav formatted .exe file using Cheat Engine. This would happen in some CD-ROM games if one of the tracks was played on a CD player.
    • This is also done by changing the .exe file to a .txt file, and making text size lower than 3.
  • The Baldloons' colors correspond exactly with the regular balloons first seen in Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash.

Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash[]

  • The red Baldloons' noise also plays when the jump scare occurs from the rare red game over screens. However, mystman12 confirmed this to be made by mistake.[1]

Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered[]

  • BCRTrailer-HiddenBaldloons

The Baldloons as hidden in the Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered trailer.

In the trailer during the glitch part, the red Baldloons appear as a split-second cameo when the scene transitions to the Cafeteria part.
  • In Glitch Style, a single red Baldloon's sentences in the YCTP are written in a unique manner with certain letters replaced by numbers or similar letters.
  • In the "I hope this wasn't too hard to solve" page, it is implied that the red Baldloon was always supposed to be the chaser in NULL Style.

Glitches[]

Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash[]

  • Baldloon-bug

The player and a Baldloon in a softlock.

If the player pushes a Baldloon into the corner, both the entity and the player themselves will get permanently stuck, soft locking the game.
    • In other cases, pushing a red Baldloon into a corner will clip it out of the map.
  • If there is a certain amount of red Baldloons, they can glitch the player up to the ceiling.
